Valuable Insights for the Coming Golden Age!

"Becoming Masters of Light: Co-Creating the New Age of Enlightenment" by psychic, teacher and best-selling author Darrin Owens is not a lengthy book but contains some very interesting info on spirit!

"Becoming Masters of Light" is Darrin's second book. His first, the best-selling "Reader of Hearts," tells the the story of his coming of age, spiritual experience and, as I understand it, serves as an introduction to the current work.

"Becoming Masters of Light" touches on some of this, well, but mostly concentrates on Darrin's own spiritual truths in regard enlightenment, the law of attraction, spiritual healing, spiritual energy, psychic intuition and the coming golden age.

I found Darrin's emphasis on the individual's role in co-creation, manifestation and the law of attraction resonant with my own beliefs. Like Darrin, I believe that we are here for our own individual and very significant reason and that reason always touches upon sharing our light and creating meaningful change here on the earth plane.

I also found the author's approach to predictive psychic readings and "the need to know" very much in line with my own thinking and experience.

Master of Light is truly a teaching manuel for empowerment! The writing holds the authors "to the point" personality and style while showing us that we are the masters of our own experience. A reminder that we all need. This book contains many steps, formulas, and insights that grounded and practical as well as applicable. Another Fantastic Private Protectors Story!

Opposing Forces is another adventure driven by Adrienne Giordano in her Private Protectors series. In this story we are introduced to Jackson Lynx and Jillian Murdoch. As with the other books in the series, Adrienne has come up with a fantastic plot with plenty of mystery, suspense, and romance to engage you from the beginning and keep you reading until you smile and sigh at the last page when all is said and done.

Jack has decided to switch jobs from the State Department to work for Taylor Security. We get a glimpse of Jack in Man Law as Vic Andrews' go-to guy at State. I wasn't sure I was able to trust him back then, but obviously we can all rest assured knowing Jack is one of the good guys. Jack is the man with the plan. He doesn't fly off the handle or operate by the seat of his pants. I have a feeling he and Gavin from Negotiating Point get along well. Jack has a plan for his life and in that plan, it does not include starting any relationships until his one year of addiction recovery is up. Too bad he has been eyeing Jillian from his Sunday morning yoga class for the past three months and now she has come to him for help. He has a problem saying no to people in need.

Jillian is used to being on her own. She likes to keep people at arms length so they don't get close enough to disappoint her. All she has ever known is disappointment growing up. Jillian works hard and strives for perfection and approval, especially in her job in pharmaceutical distribution. Unfortunately she is in the wrong place at the wrong time and sees a suspicious shipment of drugs. Things at work take a turn for the worse and are never the same after that.

Jack and Jillian have flaws that a reader can relate to, even if they have not been in the same situation as the characters. Adrienne does such a good job of describing Jack and Jillian's feelings that you really understand them. She also does a great job of research for her books. Addiction recovery and the pharmaceutical industry are both things I am not familiar with, but by the end of the book I had a greater appreciation for both. I love when a book can both entertain and educate me!

Because of the more serious tone in Opposing Forces (due to Jack's seriousness), I enjoyed the comedic relief that only Vic can bring. Janet Fink, another employee at Taylor Security had me laughing as well. They both need a better brain to mouth filter. I found it funny that Vic was shocked that Jillian was not intimidated by him. One of my favorite quotes from Jillian was when Jack and Vic were letting their egos get the best of them in a situation in which they were under a time crunch. Jillian yells at them, "What is wrong with you two? Forget the pissing match and open the damned safe." It sums her up very well.

The build up of the the romance in the story is perfect. It is very believable and fits the characters very well. Adrienne writes intimate scenes perfectly for romantic suspense - giving way just enough to use your imagination but not too many details. If you enjoy romantic suspense with a solid plot, relatable characters, humorous banter, and a great balance between the romance and edge-of-your seat action, you need to read Opposing Forces.

Adrienne Giordano has done it again! The sixth book in The Protector Series, Opposing Forces is a fantastic read !

Adrienne Giordano is a very gifted writer. Not only does she write a thrilling romantic suspense, a steamy hot romance, she creates memorable characters with loads of personality. Her characters and dialogue are creative, snarky, smart mouthed, and sensual. Her plots are creative and keep the reader sitting on the edge of their seats. Add the former character's from Taylor Security Agency to the mix and you are in for high octane read.

Opposing Forces is Jackson Lynx and Jillian Murdoch's story. Jackson is still in his one year recovery program for addiction to perscription drugs. He has a plan and goal. He cannot let anything get in his way to his one year anniversary mark. That means getting rid of the stress in his life , celibacy,and any temptation. He is almost there....six more days....until Jillian Murdoch approaches him for help. She is a temptation.....

Jillian Murdoch works for a pharmaceutical distributing company. Her job is to keep track of all deliveries and distribution. When an unscheduled delivery shows up on a Friday night she becomes suspicous. After witnessing this delivery frightening things start happening. Her home is broken into while she is asleep and her camera is stolen. She has been locked out of the company's computer network, moved to an isolated office, and basically shut out of her job. She is determined to find the answers. She approaches Jackson Lynx for help. And Jackson being the good guy with the boy scout complex agrees to help. What has Jillian got herself into...one super sexy hot guy, hot guy who has an addiction problem, dangerous job, scary boss, and life threats. As the danger escalates so does the chemistry between her and Jackson. Can she deal with both? Can she deal with Jackson and his addictions? Can Jackson meet his one year anniversary and be free? Can he do it without breaking his celibacy? Can Jillian accept all that he is, good and bad. Can they catch the bad guys so that Jillian can make that choice?

A fun, quick read!

I never miss a book by Adrienne Giordano. I've been a loyal reader of the Private Protector Series so, for me, this book was not to be missed. I read it in half a day. At 255 pages, I flew through the chapters racing to the end. I liked both Jackson and Jillian. The only problem with reading this book is that now I have to wait for the next one!!

Disappointing

I think I spent the entire time I read this book shaking my head. Even now, I still don't know why I finished it. The character development was poor, the story jumped around a lot, and I didn't feel like I finished this book knowing Jordan and Amanda any better than I did when I first started. The two didn't communicate. At all. I just didn't get them. The premise was much better than the story turned out to be.

This was Disappointing. I'm still wondering why I finished it. Maybe I thought it might get better. It didn't. This definitely does not go on my keeper shelf.

Once you get past their initial meeting (which seems unbelieveable --a businessman whose secretary shops for him but he is standing in line at a mall for a self help book????? Please!) -- this is a very good story. Steamy sex and family relationships play a part in this well written and fast moving romance.

I don't at all understand all the 5-star reviews this book is getting. I had to force myself to keep reading; the main problem was extremely weak character development. At the end of the book, I still didn't feel I knew either Jordan or Amanda, except that they both craved sex, and more sex, and more sex. There were very few conversations of the type that lets you get to know a person - instead, they just had more sex, and even the sex scenes were just blatant, not sensual. Amanda was so weak-willed, I wanted to shake her. Jordan COULD have been interesting, if we'd ever gotten a chance to know him. A sad disappointment.

Other than the Bible, my all time favorite Christian book...

I first read this book in college and have introduced it to many, read the children's edition (BEAUTIFUL illustrations - a good devotional book) to my children and since read the complete version to them.
I cannot think of a more powerful allegory illustrating the Christian life. Though most people are familiar with Pilgrim's Progress, in my opinion, this book if even better.
The story is about a girl named "Much-Afraid" who lives in the "Valley of Humiliation". She has a crooked mouth and crooked feet. Though she belongs to the "Fearings" family, she loves the Shepherd with all of her heart and desires to be in His service. She longs to have "hind's feet" and "leap upon the high places" with Him. (see the Psalms for the quote) He tells her that she may have her request, but first He must place the seed of love in her heart - it looks like a thorn.
Her family has planned for her to marry her cousin, "Craven Fear", but "Much-Afraid" doesn't want to and her only way out is to go with the Shepherd.
To reach the High Places, the Shepherd gives "Much-Afraid" two unique companions to help her along the way. They are companions of every Christian who walks the pathway to follow Christ. You must read the book to find out who they are, but be ready for a surprise!
I love this book because it doesn't gloss over what our lives as Christians are like, the challenges we face, and a Biblical account of how we are to proceed - that following Christ means dying to self to live for Him. This is one of the most beautifully written accounts I have ever read.
Get a copy and read it. It will become one of your most treasured possessions. Then read the sequel, "Mountain of Spices" where "Much-Afraid", who has been given a new name, returns to the valley to show the love of the Shepherd to her family and friends.

Perspective for the Journey

This book is like Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress only in that they are both allegories that give a wonderful overview and perspective of the Christian life. But Hinds Feet in High Places has much more heart, and I found it to stir the heart and soul in deep ways. It is the story of Much-Afraid leaving the Valley of Fear that she has always known, and embarking on a journey to become a new creation. The thing about this book is that it talks about the deepest longings and fears of our hearts in following God--following Him when we can't see ahead of us, when we feel like we're going in circles, when we feel like He is not taking us where we want to go, and how following Him can mean laying down the deepest desires of our hearts just because God asks us to, and we know Him to be good and loving. I enjoyed this book immensely, and found it both challenging and filled with grace; which is a rare find in Christian books which often offer only one or the other. All in all this is a love story between Much Afraid and her God; a God who calls her to a path that is filled with sorrow and suffering that take her to a deeper place of dependence on him, and also a God who is there the instant she calls for Him. This is a book that I will probably read every couple of years, as I am at different places in my own journey, and will always see something new that I didn't see before. It is well worth investing in.

Hind's Feet On High Places is a wonderful, beautiful allegory of God's love for each one of us. Although we face many trials along the Christian life, Jesus is always there and will always hear and help us when we cry to Him. He is especially close to the broken-hearted. We can always come to our Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, without any fear. Much-Afraid sought the Chief Shepherd early in the morning and late in the evening when her work was done. I believed she sang to Him all through the day too. This too, is our priviledge as children of God. I thank God for such an anointed writer as Hannah Hurnard. This is by far the most beautiful book that I've read. I will read and re-read this book for years to come. I have given it as a gift to friends. To all who long to live a life filled with nothing else but love for God, this is the book to read. And to all who feel that God has abandoned them and that there is no hope of reconciliation, this is the book that God will use to restore you. God bless you as you read it.

A great guide for beginners on how to conduct a needs assessment. This resource was a tremendous help when I created my first needs assessment. It contains lots of great advice and explains the basics of a needs assessment. I highly recommend this book for any new librarian or library science student.

This concise and sensible guide provides the perfect blueprint for such an assessment. A glossary and very practical list of annotated web resources round out the plans, pointers, and pitfalls librarians will appreciate for their currency and usability.
