Essential Lenten Meditations!

This is a fresh, rich set of short Lenten meditations based on elements in nature that Jesus used as "visual aids" while teaching his disciples: the fig tree, grass, the vine and its branches, seeds, wind, the harvest, and others. All of us -- no matter what our religious tradition -- will benefit from this dynamic young priest's work.

a good book for any season

It's a small, square paperback. Basically it is 40 short pieces from teachings of Jesus which are metaphors from nature. She says: Most of us cannot leave our lives behind. We are not able to walk away from everything that we know and spend forty days alone, but we can adopt a spiritual discipline. We can offer a small part of our day, ...to listen to the words of Jesus of Nazareth. ....each short piece focuses on a single image that Jesus used, a metaphor from nature.
It could be a good book for reading in the 50 days after Easter before Ascension......These brief pieces are uplifting, simple, direct and sustaining ~ comparing the physical life in nature to our spiritual lives and all taken from Jesus's teachings....... The wind, flowers, trees, the spiritual breath and love of God all around us. God's life and breath ever present, ever surrounding us in nature.
